Tea or coffee? Tea, tea and then some. Occasional coffee when out and about. Balance is everything.
Writing snack of choice? Don't snack. [Liar] Ok. The occasional choccy and a cuppa.
Writing playlist? A mix of atmospheric instrumentals and the occasional guilty-pleasure pop song that somehow sneaks in.
Early bird or night owl? Night owl. As long as I'm in bed by midnight, I can perform the following day.
Favourite place to write? In my office. Sacred place, where all my pens that don't work sit in a pot, and all my notes are in piles round my keyboard.
A book you always recommend? Too many to choose from. I will mention the classics: Tolkien, Tolstoy, Salinger, Malory... the list goes on.
A word you overuse in first drafts? "Just." It sneaks in everywhere like an uninvited guest.
A fictional character you'd love to have coffee with? In another world, I would love to meet Winston Churchill and quiz him on his art, wit and cigars.
What instantly sparks your creativity? A good conversation, a strange overheard comment, or a moment of real-life absurdity. Once sparked, I can become obsessive.
